1. Our Commitment to Accessibility
At Covitual, we believe that everyone deserves access to guidance, support, and community regardless of ability. We are committed to making our website and services usable by all people, including those with visual, hearing, cognitive, and motor impairments.
We strive to design and develop our platform in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards, as well as applicable laws including:
-
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
-
The UK Equality Act 2010
-
The European Accessibility Act (EAA)
-
The UAE Federal Law No. 29 of 2006 (which protects the rights of people with disabilities)
We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing journey, not a destination. We welcome feedback and are committed to continuous improvement.
2. Accessibility Features We Have Implemented
We are actively working to ensure our platform includes the following features:
-
Keyboard Navigation:
Our website can be navigated using only a keyboard for users who cannot use a mouse.
-
Screen Reader Compatibility:
We use semantic HTML and ARIA labels to ensure compatibility with screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver.
-
Color Contrast:
We use sufficient color contrast ratios to make text readable for users with low vision or color blindness.
-
Resizable Text:
You can resize text using your browser settings (e.g., Ctrl + or Cmd +) without breaking the layout.
-
Alternative Text:
All meaningful images include descriptive alt text for screen reader users.
-
Video Captions:
Any video content we produce will include captions or transcripts.
-
Clear Navigation:
We use consistent and predictable navigation structures throughout the site.
-
Forms with Labels:
All form fields include clear labels and error messages for easy completion.
3. Accessibility Standards We Aim to Meet
We are working toward full compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines are organized around four core principles:
-
Perceivable:
Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive.
-
Operable:
User interface components and navigation must be operable.
-
Understandable:
Information and the operation of the user interface must be understandable.
-
Robust:
Content must be robust enough that it can be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies.
4. Known Limitations & Non-Accessible Content
We are aware of some limitations on our platform. We are actively working to address these issues.
Known issues as of 01 June 2026:
-
Some older blog posts or uploaded content may not yet have full alternative text descriptions.
-
Some third-party features (e.g., certain payment processing interfaces) may not be fully accessible. We are working with our partners to improve this.
-
Live video sessions rely on third-party platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet) which may have their own accessibility features and limitations.
User-Generated Content:
Please note that content uploaded by mentors or community members may not always be fully accessible. We encourage all users to create accessible content and will provide guidance on how to do so.
5. Third-Party Platforms & Assistive Technology
Our platform integrates with third-party services for payment processing, video conferencing, and other functions. These services may have their own accessibility policies, which we encourage you to review:
-
Payment Processors:
[e.g., Stripe, PayPal] – please refer to their accessibility policies.
-
Video Conferencing:
[e.g., Zoom, Google Meet] – please refer to their accessibility features.
-
Browser-Based Assistive Tools:
We recommend using the latest versions of browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge, which include built-in accessibility features.
